Sometimes you just need a little escape to the mountains!

If you are planing to visit the North Cascades, here are some of our favorites scenic spots that you need to check out. They are all easily accessible, not much hiking needed!

The North Cascades Highway typically closes in November and reopens in May due to the winter conditions. Before you head out make sure to check the road conditions. We use Washington Trails Association (www.wta.org) to check the conditions.

diablo lake overlook

📍North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20.

This stop is a must, the view of the lake is breathtaking, it is the bluest colored lake I have ever seen! It is something you will not believe is real. Diablo Lake Overlook is a must-stop roadside attraction along Highway 20. It is right off the highway, has ample parking, restrooms and a covered picnic shelter.

The Diablo Lake Overlook is not super well marked, but you will see the lake and parking lot from the highway.

Please care for the natural areas by following leave no trace guidelines and packing out waste 🌿
